quiere tirar la flecha;
le toca a él probar su valor
usando tu ballesta.

William Tell didn’t understand his son,
that one day he grew tired of having the apple on his head,
and so he took off running, and his father cursed him,
for now, how would William prove his great prowess?

William Tell, your son has grown up,
and now he wants to shoot the arrow;
it’s his turn now to prove his valor
using your very own bow!

William Tell didn’t understand his son’s insistence,
for, who would risk being shot by that arrow?
And he got scared when the young boy declared
that now the father should put the apple on his head!

William Tell, your son has grown up...

William Tell didn’t like this idea,
and so, he refused to put the apple on his head;
he said that, really, it wasn’t mistrust,
but, what future would they have if the arrow missed its mark?

William Tell, your son has grown up...

William Tell didn’t understand his son,
that one day he grew tired of having the apple on his head!
